Fall Cleaning and Holiday Prep in Ontario
September through December in Ontario brings a specific sequence of home preparation needs — the return from summer, the school year start, Thanksgiving in October, and Christmas in December. Each creates a natural trigger for professional cleaning, and planning ahead means you're not scrambling for a same-week booking in late November when availability is at its tightest.
September: Summer Reset
The return from cottage country and summer travel is Ontario's second-busiest period for one-time cleaning bookings (after spring moving season). A full September deep clean resets the home after a summer of open windows, tracked-in sand, and relaxed tidying habits. Book in August to secure the September slot you want.
October: Thanksgiving Prep
Canadian Thanksgiving in October is one of the primary hosting triggers for Ontario households — families coming together, homes inspected by relatives, and kitchens under pressure. A pre-Thanksgiving clean booked 5–7 days before the holiday is worth every dollar. Don't try to clean the day before while cooking.
November: Holiday Season Booking Window
Book your Christmas and Hanukkah cleaning in early November. By late November, slots for the pre-holiday period are very limited across the GTA. A December 20–22 booking window for a Christmas clean fills weeks ahead of time.
December: Holiday Deep Clean
A 2–3 days before Christmas or Hanukkah deep clean — guest bathrooms, kitchen after preparation, all common areas — is one of the most appreciated home cleaning investments of the year. Budget $350–$550 for a typical GTA family home including HST.
