Post-Renovation Cleaning in Ontario
Renovation projects leave behind a specific kind of mess that ordinary cleaning can't address — construction dust that settles into every surface and air gap, adhesive residue, grout haze, paint overspray, drywall compound, and debris. Post-renovation cleaning requires a different scope, different products in some cases, and a systematic approach that residential cleaning doesn't cover.
What Post-Renovation Cleaning Covers
- Construction dust: Fine drywall and saw dust that settles on all surfaces — walls, ceilings, floors, inside cabinets, HVAC vents, baseboards, window sills. This requires a multi-pass approach: initial coarse wipe-down, then fine dust detail pass
- Surface detail: New cabinets, counters, and tile cleaned of installation residue, adhesive, and grout haze. New fixtures cleaned and polished
- Floor cleaning: Construction debris swept and vacuumed, grout cleaned on new tile floors, hardwood cleaned with appropriate products to remove construction dust without damaging the finish
- Windows: Construction overspray and dust from interior and exterior surfaces
- Garbage removal: Packaging, off-cuts, and construction debris removal is usually a contractor responsibility — post-reno cleaning starts after the contractor has cleaned up their materials
