What's Included in a Professional House Clean in Ontario
One of the most common questions Ontario homeowners have before booking professional cleaning is: what exactly does the cleaner do? The answer varies by service type — standard clean, deep clean, or move-out clean — but here's a room-by-room breakdown of what to expect from a quality Ontario cleaning service.
Standard Clean (Maintenance Visit)
A standard clean is a maintenance service for a home that's already in reasonable condition. Typical inclusions:
- Kitchen: Counters wiped, stovetop cleaned, sink and faucet scrubbed, exterior of appliances wiped, microwave interior wiped, floor swept and mopped
- Bathrooms: Toilet cleaned (bowl, seat, exterior, base), shower and tub scrubbed, sink and faucet cleaned, mirror wiped, floor swept and mopped
- Bedrooms: Dusting of all surfaces, floor vacuumed or swept and mopped
- Living areas: Dusting, floor cleaned, surfaces wiped
Deep Clean (Additional Inclusions)
A deep clean adds to the standard service:
- Oven interior, fridge interior, dishwasher interior
- Inside all cabinets and drawers (on request)
- Baseboards, light switches, door frames, window sills
- More intensive grout scrubbing in bathrooms
Move-Out Clean
A move-out clean is a comprehensive deep clean of an empty home, including all appliance interiors, all cabinet interiors, closets, and every visible surface — specifically designed to meet Ontario RTA "broom clean" standards that landlords require for deposit return.
What's Never Included
Standard and deep cleaning services don't include: laundry, dishes, outdoor spaces, garage cleaning, biohazard cleaning, or cleaning of items that require specialist treatment (antiques, specific textiles). Communicate any special requirements at booking.
