Spring cleaning in BC means dealing with the aftermath of a wet, dark winter — mould in corners, dust on baseboards, and the general heaviness that accumulates when windows are closed for months. Here's a complete checklist.
Kitchen
- Clean inside the oven (baking soda method or oven cleaner)
- Remove and degrease the range hood filter
- Defrost and clean inside the freezer
- Wipe inside all cabinets and drawers
- Clean behind and underneath the fridge and stove
- Run a cleaning cycle on the dishwasher
- Descale the kettle and coffee maker
- Wipe down all small appliances
Bathrooms
- Scrub grout with a brush and cleaner
- Re-caulk if caulking has mould or gaps
- Descale the shower head (soak in vinegar)
- Clean the exhaust fan vent
- Wash shower curtain and liner
- Check under-sink cabinet for leaks or mould
- Clean toilet tank inside
Bedrooms
- Rotate or flip mattresses
- Wash all bedding including duvet inserts and pillows
- Vacuum under the bed
- Wipe down all furniture surfaces
- Clean mirrors and picture frames
